HOUSTON CREDIT UNION MOVES DEBIT PROCESSING TO TNB CARD SERVICES, FOR SINGLE-SOURCE FULL-SERVICE SOLUTION

DALLAS – April 17, 2006 – Memorial Hermann Credit Union of Houston is converting its PIN and signature debit card processing to TNB Card Services in a move designed to improve the card program’s level of service and fraud security. The conversion will be complete later this month.

The 9,126-member credit union is the latest credit union to convert its PIN and signature debit programs to TNB. The credit union has used TNB for its credit card processing for 20 years, and its addition of debit processing reflects the strong relationship between Memorial Hermann Credit Union and TNB, which is owned and directed by credit unions.

Memorial Hermann Credit Union, chartered in 1953, covers all employees of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, which has major hospitals and healthcare facilities all over the Houston area. The credit union also serves a number of other companies, and has a community charter that opens membership to anyone who lives, works, attends school, or worships within 10 miles of any Memorial Hermann Credit Union branch.

Currently, the credit union, with nearly $32 million in assets, has four branches in Houston, but is planning to add two more branches, in suburban Sugar Land and Katy.

Robyn Olive, executive vice president of Memorial Hermann Credit Union, explained why the credit union chose to move its debit card processing to TNB’s platform:

“We already use TNB for our credit cards, so we are familiar with their operation. We knew the quality of service we would receive from TNB, and service is our top priority.”

Olive added that TNB’s strong fraud control processes were another factor in the credit union’s decision to change debit processors. Memorial Hermann Credit Union strongly encourages its members to better protect themselves by opting for signature transactions rather than PIN, she noted.

“With TNB Card Services, the members of Memorial Hermann Credit Union will enjoy better customer service and have a safer, more reliable debit card than they have had,” said Dusty Bowers, senior vice president and national sales manager of TNB Card Services. “As an issuer of both debit and credit cards, the credit union will also see the benefits of upgrading to the same level of service and support that TNB provides to its credit card program.”
