Two Wisconsin Credit
Unions Move Their Credit Card Processing to
TNB Card Services
Dallas - April 9, 2007 - The value
that TNB Card Services offers in its
processing services and its credit union
heritage were the deciding factors for two
Wisconsin credit unions, the latest to choose
TNB as their credit card processing partner.
EMBSLA Credit Union of Milwaukee and
Superior Choice Credit Union of Superior,
Wisconsin, are now TNB clients. TNB has now
converted the more than 3,000 card accounts in
the two credit unions' card programs to its
processing system.
EMBSLA, which began as a savings and loan
association in 1914, became a state-chartered
credit union in 1997. It is an employer-based
credit union, sponsored by Wisconsin Energy
Corporation, and serves employees and their
families. With 5,900 members, the credit union
has $130 million in assets.
"TNB provided the best complete
package, at the most reasonable price, of all
the providers we looked at," said
Jennifer Schilling, president of EMBSLA Credit
Union. "We were also impressed by their
willingness to provide marketing support after
conversion, as well as their philosophy."
Schilling added that what motivated EMBSLA
to switch to TNB was to achieve a better level
of service for members and support for the
credit union staff, as well as the
availability of a greater range of new
products and services.
Superior Choice Credit Union, 75 years old
this year, serves residents and workers in
five counties in northernmost Wisconsin -
Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, and Iron
- and Carlton County and part of St. Louis
County in Minnesota. With more than 23,000
members and assets of $132 million, it changed
its name in February of this year from
Superior Community Credit Union.
"Our research indicated that TNB's
level of service and support would be more
comprehensive than that of our former
processor," explained Gary Elliott,
president and CEO of Superior Choice Credit
Union. "Their current clients gave very
favorable references, and we were attracted by
the fact that TNB is credit union-owned."
Elliott added that Superior Choice is
looking forward to TNB handling more of its
back office operations, and offering its
proven marketing support to build the credit
card program.
"EMBSLA and Superior Choice credit
unions were drawn to two of TNB's
strengths," said Dusty Bowers, senior
vice president and national sales manager of
TNB Card Services. "Our superior level of
service and marketing expertise, coupled with
the fact that we are owned by credit unions,
gives credit unions a partner they can trust
with the responsibility for one of their key
assets, their card program."
