Two Credit Unions Turn to
TNB Card Services for Improved Debit Card
Processing Partnerships
Dallas – August 28, 2007 – Two
more credit unions have moved their debit card
processing to TNB Card Services, turning to
TNB to enhance security, improve service, and
reduce costs.
The new partnerships – with Emory Federal
Credit Union and North East Texas Credit
Union,
add more than 12,500 fully integrated PIN and
signature debit cards to TNB’s debit
processing operations.
“Every credit union has its unique mix of
needs from a processor, but our latest debit
processing clients have certain needs in
common. They are looking for improved client
and member service, better security, and the
most cost-effective processing partnership
possible,” said Dusty Bowers,
senior vice president and national sales
manager of TNB Card Services. “It is our
unparalleled ability to fill these needs that
continues to attract credit unions to TNB.”

Emory Federal Credit Union of Atlanta,
founded in 1968, has used TNB for its credit
card
processing for nearly 20 years. The
17,000-member credit union has $88 million in
assets.
“We have a long and successful history with
TNB,” said Demitra Houlis, vice president of
compliance and e-commerce for Emory FCU. “We
were a debit client of TNB for many years,
along with being a credit client. But a few
years ago we moved our debit processing to
another
company because we needed ATM terminal driving
support, which at the time TNB did not
offer.”
“We have always regretted the move, and once
we heard that TNB was supporting ATM terminal
driving, we immediately made plans to convert
the debit program back to TNB.”
Emory FCU serves employees of Emory University
and Emory University Hospital, as well as
Emory University students and faculty, and
personnel of Crawford Long Hospital, Egleston
Children's Hospital, Wesley Woods, The Emory
Clinic, The Carter Center, Yerkes Primate
Center, and other Emory-related organizations.
Like Emory FCU, North East Texas Credit
Union of Lone Star, Texas, has been a
longtime TNB credit card processing client,
and decided to move its debit processing to
gain greater protection and better service for
members.
“We decided to change debit processors
because our former processor does not have a
24-hour call center, and doesn’t provide the
fraud security that TNB offers,” said Kay
Stewart, president and CEO of North East Texas
CU. “TNB has much better levels of fraud
protection, and because their call center is
always staffed, members can receive service
anytime. That is important to them.”
Also, Stewart added, “TNB has a much
stronger client service program.”
North East Texas CU, founded in 1948,
originally served employees of Lone Star Steel
Company. It now serves four Texas counties in
the far northeast corner of the state. The
11,000-member credit union has assets of $81
million.
