Houston’s Harris County Federal Credit Union
Moves Its Debit Card Processing to TNB Card Services

Dallas – July 23, 2007 – Harris County Federal Credit Union of Houston, a longtime client for TNB Card Services’ credit card processing, has now moved its debit card processing to TNB as well, integrating the two sides of its card operations.

Harris County FCU is moving more than 3,000 Visa debit cards over to TNB’s single-source, full-service debit card processing solution, which enables the credit union to view and manage signature and PIN debit account information and transactions online, and in real time.

The solution will help the 55-year-old Harris County FCU save time in overall management of its debit card program, as well as making the program more efficient and flexible. The credit union serves Harris County government employees as well as several under-served areas in the county. It has 15,000 members and assets of $70 million.

Gertie Toups, accounting and technology vice president for Harris County Federal Credit Union, said that it was the credit union’s experience with TNB as its credit card processor that led it to expand the relationship and work with TNB as its debit card processor.

"We trust that TNB will bring a high level of stability to our entire program, both credit and debit cards," Toups said. "We also believe that our members, and the credit union as well, will benefit from a greater level of convenience."

Dusty Bowers, senior vice president and national sales manager of TNB Card Services, pointed out that Harris County FCU is the latest in a line of clients to see the advantages in streamlined PIN and signature debit transaction processing. "One clear benefit for credit unions is the ability to improve their debit card security by processing those cards, along with their credit cards, on a single TNB platform. With the ever-growing risk of debit card fraud, the integrated security offers much greater peace of mind," Bowers said.
