Minnesota's Minnco Credit Union Partners with TNB for Card Processing

Dallas, May 26, 2009 – Minnco Credit Union of Minnesota has selected TNB as its card processing partner as it moves to broaden the range of competitive products it offers to members and grow the card program.

Minnco is a $150 million credit union with more than 21,000 members. It is currently transferring its thousands of card accounts over to TNB, the first step in a proactive partnership that features a high degree of customization and promotion as Minnco pursues its growth goals.

"We were looking for more than our current processor could provide in terms of the number of products offered, risk-based pricing, and the ability to offer customized products that can compete with mega-bank programs," said Steve Oien, CEO of Minnco Credit Union, explaining why the credit union decided to move to TNB. "We didn't want to be stuck with a single one-card, one-rate offering, as we have been."

One of Minnco's priorities as it partners with TNB is to offer a full-featured rewards program for members, moving beyond the one percent cash back reward it has been offering. In addition to embracing TNB's Rewards2U® program, Minnco will also work with TNB's experts on portfolio consulting, so the credit union can determine both the optimal pricing strategy for the card program as well as the best products.

Marketing is another priority, Oien noted, once the transition to TNB is complete. "We have been doing very little in the way of marketing," he said. "We will definitely take advantage of TNB's turnkey promotions."

Founded in 1935, Minnco Credit Union serves members of federated cooperatives as well as residents of six east central Minnesota counties. It is based in Cambridge, with five branches to serve members.
