TNB provides turn-key investigation services on behalf of its clients.  The moment fraudulent activity is reported, TNB’s expert analysts begin working to ensure maximum protection and fraud recovery for each client.  Once an analyst completes the investigation and recovery process, clients are presented with a simple-to-understand claims package that can be used to file insurance claims.
TNB has experienced bi-lingual staff available around the clock to assist members anytime they lose their card or need assistance.  The staff will take immediate actions when cards are reported lost or stolen to minimize fraud risk.  In addition, card replacement can be automated to lessen member inconvenience.
Card activation is a simple, efficient way of reducing mail theft by blocking the use of a plastic until the recipient confirms receipt of the card.
TNB’s risk management approach begins prior to cards being mailed. Cards are produced under the strictest standards at our plastics production facility and are then co-mingled with other outgoing mail to lessen the chances of large numbers of cards being stolen.
E-Commerce Authentication programs for both MasterCard® and Visa® are available through TNB. MasterCard SecureCode™ and Verified By Visa™ allow cardholders to create unique passwords to help ensure safe internet shopping.
TNB supports Issuers’ Clearing House, a national data-base that can verify application or change of address information and includes known fraudulent information.
To target account takeover fraud and identity theft, TNB notifies cardholders when an address change is requested.
Many security checks and safeguards are built into the authorization process. When a request for authorization is presented, numerous verifications occur including:
  • Card Verification Values –Deters counterfeit and card-not-present fraud at the point of sale
  • Address Verification Service (AVS) – reduces fraudulent mail and telephone order transactions by verifying the cardholder’s billing address before completing the transaction.
  • Name Mismatch – verifies the cardholder’s name on Track 1 against the name on the account record during the authorization and decision process.
  • Card Expiration Mismatch – reduces fraudulent point-of-sale, mail and telephone-order transactions by verifying the cardholder’s expiration date on file against the authorization request.
  • Blocked Country Code Review (OFAC) -  reviews all authorization attempts, declines, and transaction postings daily for any activity originating from current OFAC sanctioned countries.
  • Daily Limits – controls the number of times a card can be used within a 24-hour time frame for cash, retail purchases or overall total transactions.
